Lavender Fields - Flowering November to February

The lavender grown in our main fields consists of two varieties of Lavandula Angustifolia (commonly known as English Lavender), i.e. Swampy and Avice Hill.  Both varieties are excellent for the production of Grade 1 quality essential oil and are therefore suitable for the perfumery and aromatherapy trade. Due to their extremely low camphor content, the flowers can also be used for culinary purposes.

Lavender Collection - Flowering most times, depending on type.

At present consists of a collection of over seventy varieties of lavender, which would represent about half of the lavender species  and cultivars presently known to exist. The collection is being continually added to and will eventually contain upwards of 100 varieties.  Even now, it is the largest collection of its type in Tasmania.                                               Homepage
